ARIA is sponsored by the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology, funding breakthrough R&D in underexplored areas to address opportunities and challenges across the UK and beyond. They empower scientists and engineers to pursue research that is too speculative, too hard, or too interdisciplinary to pursue elsewhere. Funding opportunities are broken down into two strands: ‘Programmes’ which are designed to advance complex, large-scale projects (awards ranging between £10m and £100m), and ‘Opportunity Seeds’ which support individual research teams to uncover new pathways which could inspire future programmes (awards up to £500k). Whether you are a single research team, or part of a larger, multinational consortium, these grants are an excellent opportunity to fund your R&D ambitions.
